Reflections

Reflections is a project which revolves around two main themes, and they are not hard to guess. One being a colour and the other being a material meant that there were about 50 million different directions we could to take it, but given how beautifully grey and mirror marry together, we decided to target something slightly difficult. Subtle maximalism. Our clients were most decidedly ambiverts and we realised that this concept would suit their personalities perfectly. One of the statement features of the house was the mirrored dining wall which acts as a feature wall, increases how large the space feels, and allows for various reflections of all the core veins of the house to be faceted across the common areas.

The kitchen and dining are emblematic of the client and the entire house. The spaces flow easily into one another and the mirrored wall reflects the dining, kitchen and puja unit while bringing an extra dimension to space and making it feel larger than it already is.

A puja unit is a very personal piece of design that varies from client to client. We like to design puja units from absolute scratch each time and stick to the symbolism and beliefs that our clients resonate with. This is one of our favourite takes on a contemporary puja unit.

The living room is meant to be a space for entertaining and for relaxing. We were designing for very sophisticated people who also had a streak of luxury, jazzy fun running through them. We knew that the room had to walk the fine line between too simple and over the top. We kept the colours achromatic and used panelling, mirror to create the energy that we achieved.

Our favourite space in this entire house is probably the kids’ room/study! This space is to eventually be turned into a kids’ room but for now has to function as an office for our very picky client. She works from home and absolutely needs a space that allows versatility both in usage and for the user who sits in it. We realised that both the perfect office and a good kids’ room could have one thing in common : our client’s wonderful and whimsical sense of humour!

Size : 3 BHK apartment

Carpet Area : 2200 sqft approx

This project, like all our homes, is very close to our hearts, and we have enjoyed every little detail that has gone into creating it. Our client’s vision was unique, and we pushed the norms of mixed style spaces and using textures and materials to unique concepts that reflected the clients we were designing for. These spaces are a direct reflection of their personalities.
