Anabia

Anabia is an interior design concept that posed an interesting challenge. What does one do when your client is resistant to using any colour but is a fun, vibrant, larger than life person themselves? Someone sophisticated, neutral and elegant while at the same time being glamourous and luxurious. We thought long and hard before we decided we’d have to apply a neutral colour palette and apply pops of light and metallics to create the impact that colour normally would.

Using the exact same set of neutrals through the entire home and all the bedrooms would’ve resulted in a cohesive space, sure, but not one with long term appeal as a residence. That’s why we applied different neutral palettes to different spaces. The living room and one of the bedrooms followed a neutral warm palette while the master and the secondary bedroom were based on neutral cool palettes.

Like we said earlier, the use of metallics and lights in key points was integral in creating visual interest in these spaces. What we did was to pair a base tone like grey with a complimentary metallic like silver, or opposingly contrast a black tone with gold for the extra luxurious feeling that we see in the master bedroom. As much as we love doing bedroom design for children, it was truly a great experience to try and create three sophisticated and elegant adult bedrooms while making sure that they were all part of the same design language, different enough from each other based on the user and yet none of them were better than the other two.

Anabia is meant to be the gate to heaven or the door to jannat. That’s all we were trying to achieve with this project. Luxury levels that were reminiscent of heaven while keeping it subtle, elegant and classy!
